from our Executive Director!

Dear Students and Families,

I would like to thank you for visiting our website and taking the time to invest in your child's future.  We know that you wish to provide the best for your child.  So, we invite you to give your child the "gift" of education by enrolling them in our tutoring services.  Together, with HistoryMakersLA, we will be providing a new opportunity to your child.

Beyond this, we ask that you please also share with us how we can serve you in other ways.  Are you interested in parenting classes, special test prep classes for your child, or enrichment/mentoring activities?  We believe by meeting the needs of the family, we are creating a better environment in which the children will flourish.

Finally, we ask that you take a moment to consider how YOU can also participate in giving back to our community.  Perhaps, you might consider:

• Being a volunteer or making a donation to help us provide scholarships for those students that don't qualify for free tutoring, yet ARE needy
• Supporting our efforts to help homeless children in the district and their families
• Supporting our efforts to help families who are struggling to provide an alternative to a gang lifestyle
• Providing mentoring to help kids who have dropped out of school
• Advocating to make a difference in the San Fernando Valley and in Los Angeles
